Rajasthan health department has started taking appropriate measures in four high-risk regions to eradicate measles-rubella by December 2023. Four districts, namely Alwar, Bharatpur, Sawai Madhopur, and Jodhpur, have recently recorded such incidents.

Dr. Prithvi, the health secretary, examined the measles-rubella campaign that was carried out as part of the state′s regular immunization program on Monday at Swasthya Bhavan and provided the required instructions. Catch-up rounds are being done as part of this campaign to find and vaccinate children under five who missed the measles-rubella immunization.

According to Dr. Prithvi, a specific vaccination program is being carried out across the state to help the Center achieve its goal of eradicating the disease by the end of December.

In the past month, Barmer, Jalore, Sirohi, and Rajsamand districts have reached nearly 90% of their goals, while direct monitoring is being conducted in high-risk areas.

The department has been instructed to act quickly by dispatching state-level officers to more districts.
